Teeth Whitening
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening lightens teeth and helps to remove stains. Whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures. Because it is an affordable way to greatly improve & brighten your smile.
As a cosmetic dentist in Castle hill, we understand the importance of a white smile. That is why we are offering:
- In chair Zoom teeth whitening $399.00 valued at $950.00
- Home kit teeth whitening $199.00 valued at $480
Why Teeth Whitening?
Professional teeth whitening is performed by our highly trained and licensed team to guarantee a safe and reliable way to whiten your smile.
Whether in chair teeth whitening or take home kit, teeth whitening can help with discolouration caused by:
- Aging or naturally discoloured teeth
- Coffee, tea, red wines or coloured drinks
- Smoking and tobacco products
- Dental trauma
- Some Medications
How does teeth whitening work?
The whitening agents that are used are either hydrogen peroxide or Carbamide peroxide.
The hydrogen peroxide is activated via an LED accelerator (Zoom) or chemically, to form water and oxygen ions. These oxygen ions can penetrate the enamel and attack the chemical bonds in staining molecules and break them down into smaller molecules. These small molecules are then easily removed with your own saliva.
Carbamide peroxide is only used in home whitening kits. It breaks down to hydrogen peroxide over a period of time and has less strength. Therefore, home whitening kits need to be used at a higher concentration or for longer duration to get the same result.
Results of whitening are affected by
- Presence of calculus (tartar) and plaque
- Concentration of the hydrogen peroxide
- Length of time for exposure to the whitening agent
- Initial colour of natural teeth
Professional Teeth Whitening
- In-chair whitening procedures are the most popular, reliable, and effective method of whitening teeth. At Castle Hill Dental Care, we are highly trained and licensed to provide Philips ZOOM Whitening, a proven procedure which whitens teeth up to eight shades!
- The Philips Zoom Whitening process utilises a 25% hydrogen peroxide concentration whitening agent and takes roughly 1 hour from start to finish. The high concentration whitening agent is applied only after your gums are carefully protected by a special covering.
The entire procedure from start to finish is performed under constant dental supervision for maximum comfort, protection, and the best possible results. - To ensure minimal post-whitening sensitivity, each treatment also includes a Relief ACP gel which is applied following your treatment to help to protect your tooth enamel, and allow you to enjoy your new bright, white smile.

Polanight is only available in Carbamide peroxide 10-20% and also contains a mineralising agent (fluoride) and desensitising agent (Pola Desensitizing Technology).

- 10 individual syringes (approximately 30 applications)
What to expect During your teeth whitening treatment
EXPERT ADVICE
Your dentist will listen carefully to your concerns and expectations and help to inform you of the best options available to whiten your smile and to keep it beautiful. Sometimes whitening procedures are unable to treat your cosmetic concerns and other options may be more suitable.
GUARANTEED RESULTS

AFTER-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
We want you to enjoy your life and to eat and drink what you love, while keeping your teeth white for longer. Our dentists will ensure you know how to do that, by giving you comprehensive after care instructions.
MAINTENANCE
Over time calculus and plaque builds up and can speed up tooth discolouration. That’s why we recommend regular check-up and cleans to keep your teeth not only bright and beautiful but more importantly healthy, and strong.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes, clinical studies have shown that whitening your teeth using hydrogen or carbamide peroxide under the supervision and instruction of a qualified dentist is completely safe and causes no harm to your gums or teeth.
What is the difference between over-the-counter whitening products and professional teeth whitening treatments?
Over-the-counter whitening products are not customised to your needs and due to safety concerns, are at a much lower concentration. As a result, the whitening agents are not sufficiently able to penetrate into your tooth structure and reliably whiten your teeth.
Professional teeth whitening options, however, contain a significantly higher concentration of the whitening agent and are performed with properly custom fitted trays or under dental supervision. These safety measures ensure that your teeth, gums, and enamel are protected during the whitening process.
Do I have to have a clean before my whitening treatment?
While it is not mandatory, we do highly recommend having a thorough clean as close to your whitening procedure as possible, because any plaque and calculus built up around your teeth will not whiten and effect the result.
How long will my ZOOM Whitening results last?
Results will differ for everyone, however, most people that we see have said that the results are even better than what they expected. Teeth whitening treatments help to reduce existing stains and discolouration, however, consumption of coloured beverages such as tea, coffee, red wine or even just the natural aging of teeth may cause your teeth to eventually become discoloured again. This is why we recommend purchasing a take home whitening kit as well, so you are able to apply the whitening treatment when you need an extra boost. This can also be used as a maintenance whitening treatment.
Can I whiten my fillings, inlays and onlays?
Unfortunately, fillings, inlays and onlays cannot be whitened like your natural tooth can.
After having your teeth bleached, we recommend waiting a few weeks to ensure the colour has stabilised before resurfacing or redoing your filling to match your new whiter colour.
If there is no decay present, we recommend completing your whitening prior to placement of any fillings, veneers, crowns or dentures.
