Tooth Aches
Toothaches can occur for many reasons, some of which aren’t related to the tooth at all! However, the most common cause is infection.
They can be caused by:
- Tooth decay
- Fractured teeth or restorations
- Dental Abscesses
- Infected or inflammed pulp
- Sinus problems
- Jaw joint pain
If you are experiencing pain, we recommend taking over the counter pain-killers such as Nurofen and Panadol for pain management until you can get to us. Please adhere to the instructions provided or ask your pharmecist.
At your appointment, we try our best to alleviate your pain by definitive treatment or with an appropriate antibiotic or pain medication. Definitive treatment in your emergency appointment is highly dependent on the nature of you emergency and the amount work required. Therefore, temporary solutions might be advised till you next appointment to resolve the problem permanently.

Knocked out Teeth
It is not uncommon for children and adults to knock out their teeth (avulsed teeth). In such an event follow the instruction illustrated in the below and Call Us IMMEDIATELY On (02) 9680 1212.
- Find and pick up the tooth by the crown (the top white part). Touching the root can damage the root surface which is essential to save the tooth.
- Make sure it is an adult tooth, because baby teeth will not be put back in as they might damage the tooth buds of the erupting adult tooth.
- If the tooth is dirty, gently wash it in milk or saline solution or contact lens solution.
- Alternatively, hold it under the person tongue(this does not apply to children as they might swallow or chock on it). Or place it in milk or saline/contact lens solution till you see our dentist
